What Beta Readers Do
Beta readers come in at the final draft stage — after structural edits, before copy editing. This is a near-complete manuscript. The work at this stage is close reading: pacing within scenes, character consistency, moments that land and moments that don’t.
I’m not asking you to polish the prose. I’m asking you to tell me the truth about your reading experience — where you slowed down, what confused you, what you loved, and what made you want to put the book down.
The Commitment
- Read the complete manuscript within three weeks
- Return written feedback via the provided form or email
- Be specific — scene references, page notes, direct observations
- Keep the manuscript strictly confidential
- Genre experience in sports romance or medical fiction is a plus
